The "Aule Verdi" (Green Classrooms) project aims to bring younger generations closer to, and reconnect them with, the territory of the Val di Fiastra in the province of Macerata—both in its natural components and its cultural and identity-related aspects.
Through a network of valley-based classrooms, the project seeks to encourage daily contact between schools and local ecosystems, to promote a form of education attentive to sustainability and environmental awareness, and to involve families and the wider community in the educational journey.
The Camposaz workshop represents the concluding moment of a co-design and shared educational process that has been ongoing in the area for two years, involving numerous local stakeholders.
Starting from prototypes developed by students from the School of Architecture and Design at the University of Camerino (UniCam SAAD)—based on input and inspiration from pupils and their families in the Val di Fiastra—the workshop will consist in the construction of classrooms whose walls are the horizon itself: places where one can perceive and admire the local landscape, and connect it to global processes.
